In March 2011 Vossloh and the national railways of Israel (IR) closed a deal for the delivery of 15 EURO 3000AC / 3200 locomotives and 14 EURO 4000 locomotives. The deal included an option for more locomotives, which was exercised in the form of 9 additional EURO 3200 locomotives. The number of EURO 4000 locomotives on order remained 14. The first two EURO 4000 locos (1401 & 1402) were shipped to Israel in October 2011, only 7 months after the order was placed. The last of the batch of 14 was delivered in 2012. In 2016, a single locomotive was delivered to Israel Railways: 1415.
