Captrain Deutschland bought three Traxx DE locomotives in 2013/2014. These machines were part of a batch of 15 built by Bombardier for intended use by French operator SNCF and, later on, leasing company Akiem. Captrain acquired the previously designated 76 101, 102 and 108, which were subsequently renumbered as 285 117, 118 and 119 respectively. From delivery, the three locomotives were operated by Captrain subsidiary ITL from Dresden, Germany.
