In short

Europorte's first experience with Vossloh EURO 4000 locomotives was with 4001 - 4004, leased from Beacon Rail Leasing. Late April 2011, an order was placed with Vossloh to extend the Europorte fleet with 12 fully owned units. One month later, the first two locos were already delivered by Vossloh España, numbered 4005 and 4006. The remaining 10 units (4007 - 4016) followed in 2012 and entered service in the last half of that year.

Additional locos arrived between July and August of 2013 in the form of 4023 - 4026, while the ownership of four other units was transferred to a different party. Per 1 August 2013, locomotives 4013 - 4016 were sold to Beacon Rail Leasing and leased back to Europorte France. By adding four extra EURO 4000 locos Europorte decreased the number of G 2000 locomotives needed, thereby standardising the fleet.

In the summer of 2014, four more locomotives were delivered to the French operator: 4031-4034. At that the moment, Europorte also had an outstanding firm order for four locomotives to be delivered in 2015, including an option for four units to be delivered in 2016. This option was exercised in January 2015.
