In short
On 18.11.2008 a brand new, black and red painted EuroRunner was transported from Munich to Wiener Neustadt by EuroSprinter prototype ES 64 P-001. There it received custom made adhesives and the designation 2016 910. The locomotive turned out to be the first EuroRunner for Stern & Hafferl from Gmunden [AT].
About a year later a second locomotive was delivered to Stern & Hafferl, numbered 2016 911. On 25.09.2009 it was officially handed over to the Austrian operator. During the official presentation Stern & Hafferl employees demonstrated the radio control equipment of this locomotive, which was installed during the construction of this unit. This was not the case for 2016 910, which received the equipment shortly after the delivery of 2016 911.
In 2012, on 29.06.2012 to be precise, two white EuroRunners left Germany and headed for Austria. The locos in question were stock locomotives, both destined for Stern & Hafferl as 2016 912 and 913. They headed for Linz, where they were applied their base red livery. Also minor customer specific adjustments were done before both locos could enter service with Stern & Hafferl.
