Czech railfreight operator ČD Cargo has launched a tender for the acquisition of up to 55 new locomotives. The operator eyes a framework contract that will include an initial firm order for ten multisystem electrics and three diesel locomotives. The full framework is to cover a maximum of 50 multisystem and 5 diesel locomotives, with the first locomotives to be delivered within fourteen months after finalizing the contract.
The multisystem electrics should be able to operate under 15kV and 25kV AC overhead power systems with a minimum power rating of 5.5 MW, as well as under 3kV DC overhead power systems with a minimum power rating of 5 MW. Base country package is to consist of DE-AT-CZ-SK, with the possibility to extend it with HU-PL and/or SI-HR. Besides national safety systems, ETCS Level 2 baseline 3 (v3.4.0) should be on board as well.
The diesels should have a power rating of at least 2.4 MW and should be Stage IIIb compliant. The base country package should include DE-AT-CZ-SK, with the possibility to extend it with HU. Again, ETCS Level 2 baseline 3 is requested.
